cheaters

I don't watch many "reality" shows. One that I have watched in the past is called cheaters. It is on in the late night. The reason I watch is to see the state of the secular world. It is a commentary on the state of chastity or the lack of thereof.

On the show there are three main types of cheaters . One is the boyfriend and girlfriend who are living together ( cohabitation) . My thought on this group is that if you are living in sin to begin with what else would you expect? That you partner will act morally in other aspects of the relationship. C'mon GET REAL.

The same can be said of those whose relationship is living in the sin of sodomy.

The last is kind of hard for me to stomach. The married couple where one or both partners decides to commit adultery. There is always an excuse. "you're not doing enough for me" or "You're not making enough money" Or The sex is not good enough or often enough etc,etc. Do you see a common denominator? I do. It's me,me,me. Selfishness narcissistic. People who cheat are always thinking only of themselves

Little is known of her life, and the information was have was received by private revelation from her. Martyred at about age 14 in the early days of the Church.

In 1802 the remains of a young woman were found in the catacomb of Saint Priscilla on the Via Salaria, Rome, Italy. It was covered by stones, the symbols on which indicated that the body was a martyr namedSaint Philomena. The bones were exhumed, cataloged, and effectively forgotten since there was so little known about the person.

In 1805 Canon Francis de Lucia of Mugnano, Italy was in the Treasury of the Rare Collection of Christian Antiquity (Treasury of Relics) in the Vatican. When he reached the relics of Saint Philomena he was suddenly struck with a spiritual joy, and requested that he be allowed to enshrine them in a chapel in Mugnano. After some disagreements, settled by the cure of Canon Francis following prayers to Philomena, he was allowed to translate the relics to Mugnano. Miracles began to be reported at the shrine including cures of cancer, healing of wounds, and the Miracle of Mugnano in which Venerable Pauline Jaricot was cured a severe heart ailment overnight. Philomena became the only person recognized as a Saint solely on the basis of miraculous intercession as nothing historical was known of her except her name and the evidence of her martyrdom.

• Pope Gregory XVI authorized her public veneration, and named her patroness of the Living Rosary
• The cure of Pope Blessed Pius IX, while archbishop of Imola, was attributed to Philomena; in 1849, Pius named her patroness of the Children of Mary.
• Pope Leo XIII approved the Confraternity of Saint Philomena, and raised it to an Archconfraternity
• Pope Pius X raised the Archconfraternity to a Universal Archconfraternity, and named Saint John Vianney its patron
• Saint John Vianney himself called Philomena the New Light of the Church Militant, and had a strong and well-known devotion to her

I have commented on some blogs too. I have always said that we need to keep quiet and just PRAY, PRAY, PRAY.

an open letter to the Unites States' Bishops

As you start your fall plenary meetings you are faced with a crisis in the Catholic Church in America. The most immoral evil person to date has been elected President with a lot of help from the Catholics. Even among churchgoing Catholics Obama received 49% of the vote. That means that federally funded embryonic stem cell research, the Freedom of choice act A pro Abortion Supreme Court for the next 25 years and a repeal of the defense of marriage act are surely around the corner. Many of us pro life Catholics put the blame squarely in your corner. Why? YOU Have Failed. There has not been enough catechetical preaching from the pulpit. Sure you say 100 bishops made statements. 100 out of 300. You are not unified. That means two thirds did not do enough. How can Catholics have and Informed conscience if they don't hear from the pulpit what the proper Church teaching is.
There are Pro abortion politicians who are still allowed to receive communion. That is sending the wrong message. I believe these politicians are heretics and should be excommunicated. That will be sending the right message.

Your document "Forming Consciences for Faithful Citizenship," did not go far enough. It should say plain and simply enough "To vote for a Pro abortion candidate over a pro life candidate is a mortal sin" PERIOD. Do not leave any doubts. Do not talk about other important issues. There are no other issues as important as protecting the innocent pre-born human life. NO MORE AMBIGUITY.
Now the election is over. We have lost a battle. But you my dear bishops must act NOW. Do not wait til the 2010 election. DO YOUR JOB. Preach. Teach. GET your priests to do the same. From the pulpit. That is the only way we can correct this very sad state of affairs in the United States Catholic Church . And as stated in my previous post we must pray not only for the conversion of Barack Obama but also for all these misguided souls who voted for him

Election hangover

Ok. The election is over finally. Obama won. Death won. Atheism won. McCain lost. Pro life lost.
The day after, I must admit, I was very dejected. How can God believing people vote for a candidate like Barack Obama and other pro death politicians? How can this happen?
Then I read an article by Lisa Miller on Newsweek online linked here :http://www.newsweek.com/id/167917. It seems to celebrate the end of the influence of Value Voters. All I could think - "it is the economy stupid" The value voters turned their backs to God and voted their pocketbooks. It seems that America will vote for the Devil himself if he promises a good economy. Forget the Pre-born humans. They are not important. Following God and his commandments and laws are not important.
Look at the exit polls.
49% of the church going Catholics voted for Obama.
Protestant/Other Christian 45% -- Obama.
Catholic 54% --Obama.
Jewish 78%-- Obama .
White Protestant/Other Christian 34% -- Obama.
White Catholic 47% -- Obama.
White Jewish 83% -- Obama.
32% of Protestants who attend Church at least weekly voted for Obama

Jill Stanek in a column in WorldNetDaily entitled "Life will not go on," wrote in part "this means we are fooling ourselves if we think the United States is still a Christian nation . Its people just elected a barbarian as president, authorized the killing of both its youngest and sickest, rejected scientific fact that human life begins at conception, blocked parental intervention of abortions of young girls, and voted down the wording of an abortion ban they said only two years ago they would support."
I agree with Jill but I will go even farther. America today is an atheistic Godless society. We will ignore God's fifth commandment and vote our pocketbooks. It is the idol -- money. It is the economy over God's laws. We worship money. Our economy takes precedence over millions of -humans whose innocent lives have been taken.
Like many I thought we need to pray for Barack Obama to be converted. That is still true. We also need to pray for the millions of people who voted for Obama. They need to be converted. Until they are I am afraid that Abortion will never end. Until people turn to God and vote pro-life over the bad economy we will lose. And when will the Wrath of God finally take force.
